Do you build block or Belgard style retaining walls?

No. GoldenPaw builds poured concrete retaining walls only. We do not install segmental block or paver wall systems of any kind. If a block wall is what the project calls for, you want a hardscape contractor.

How tall can a residential retaining wall be?

Height limits and engineering requirements vary by jurisdiction, and above certain heights many local building departments require engineered drawings. We identify what applies at your address before quoting, and we will tell you when a project needs an engineer rather than working around it.

Why do retaining walls fail?

Almost always water. Soil behind a wall saturates, freezes, and expands, and if there is nowhere for that water to go, the pressure has to move the wall. Drainage behind the wall and a footing sized to the load are what prevent it.

Can a retaining wall create usable yard space?

That is frequently the reason to build one. Cutting into a slope and holding it back converts unusable grade into flat, usable yard, and it often pairs naturally with a patio at the new level.

Do you do foundation walls?
