Explore this service →The quote is the product before the concrete is
Nearly every dispute between a homeowner and a concrete contractor traces back to something that was discussed but never written down. We start there instead.
A written scope before anything starts
Every project begins with a written, itemized scope of work. Never a verbal ballpark, never a number that moves once the work is underway.
Responsive from quote to completion
Fast, consistent communication is the thing homeowners tell us is missing from most concrete contractors. It is the easiest thing in this business to get right and the most commonly dropped.
Crews held to a standard
Experienced crews held to strict accountability and quality standards on every job, on prep and materials as much as on the finish.
Built on a reputation already earned
Ownership previously grew Rooted Lawn and Landscape into one of Hamilton County's most recognized home service brands. This is not a first time operator learning what it takes to earn a community's trust.
Indiana winters are the reason the base matters more than the finish
Concrete patios typically last around thirty years. When one fails early in central Indiana, the cause is almost never mysterious.
Freeze-thaw cycling and uneven soil beneath the slab account for the large majority of cracking and heaving in this climate. Water gets into or under the concrete, freezes, expands, and has to push something. Much of the soil across this metro is clay heavy, which holds water rather than draining it and moves seasonally as its moisture content changes.
That is why every GoldenPaw project includes a drainage and grading assessment before we pour, why base depth and compaction are specified in writing rather than described, and why control joints are cut on a deliberate plan. Concrete is going to move. The plan decides whether it moves along a line we chose or a jagged one it picked.
What base depth are you specifying, and how is it compacted? A specific number is the right answer. Vagueness there is the single biggest predictor of a slab that will not age well, because the base is invisible in the finished product and therefore the easiest place to save money.
Four finishes, and an honest account of what each one asks of you
Most finish decisions get made from a photo. They are better made from an understanding of how each surface behaves in year eight, including the maintenance commitments nobody mentions at signing.

Broom Finish Concrete
The workhorse finish. Textured, slip resistant, and the most forgiving surface through an Indiana winter.
Compare this finish →
Stamped Concrete
Pattern and texture pressed into fresh concrete to read like stone, brick, or plank, in one continuous slab.
Compare this finish →
Exposed Aggregate Concrete
The stone in the mix revealed at the surface. Durable, high traction, and it ages better than almost anything else.
Compare this finish →
Stained and Colored Concrete
Color worked into or applied to the slab, from subtle warmth to deliberate contrast.
Compare this finish →From first call to final walkthrough
The same eight steps on every project, residential or commercial. You always know what happens next and who is responsible for it.

Site visit
We measure the space, assess drainage and grading, talk through finish options, and take photos. This is where the questions that change the design get asked.
Written scope and itemized quote
A written scope of work and an itemized quote, sized by square footage and sent through Housecall Pro. What is included, what is not, base depth, thickness, joint plan, and drainage work all visible as their own lines.
You decide, without pressure
If you have questions or want to compare, take the time. If the answer is not yet, that is a fine answer. We follow up, we do not chase.
Scheduling and prep
Once approved, the job is scheduled and the deposit is collected. Materials are ordered and pours are planned around weather rather than forced into it.
Exact square footage. Base material and depth. Compaction. Slab thickness and reinforcement. Finish and color. Control joint layout. Drainage and grading work. Demolition, protection, and haul-off. Permits and who pulls them. Schedule and cure windows. Payment terms and the final walkthrough.
A verbal estimate is a number without a definition. It cannot be compared to another verbal estimate, and when the job changes there is no baseline to change from.
What belongs in a scopeWhat we do not do
Knowing where a contractor stops is as useful as knowing where they start. GoldenPaw is a poured concrete company and we would rather point you somewhere else than take work we are not the right fit for.
If your project needs one of these, tell us anyway. We will say so plainly, and where we can, point you toward the kind of contractor who does it.
- Hardscapes and pavers: no paver patios, paver walkways, paver driveways, or segmental block retaining walls
- Foundations, footings, foundation walls, and structural slabs
- Industrial slabs and heavy equipment pads
- Excavation or grading as a standalone service
- Asphalt paving of any kind
- Brick, natural stone, and block masonry
- Pool construction. We pour the deck, not the pool
- Lawn care and landscaping

GoldenPaw Concrete is a new name, and its Google Business Profile is being established now. Rather than fill this page with stock testimonials or borrow credibility from a previous company, we are leaving it empty until real customers put something here.
What we can point to is the standard the ownership is bringing with it. The prior home service business in this area was built into one of the community's most recognized brands on exactly the things this company is built on: a written scope, responsive communication, and crews held to a standard. If that matters to you, the written quote is where you will see it first.

Read the guide →Questions we get before the first site visit
How much will my concrete project cost?
We provide a written, itemized quote based on square footage and finish type before any work begins. No vague ballparks, no surprises on invoice day. We do not quote over the phone, because a number given before anyone has seen the site is a number that will change once we do.
How long will the project take?
Timeline depends on size, weather, and site prep, but we give a clear schedule as part of the written scope so you know what to expect from day one. Pours get planned around weather conditions rather than rushed.
Will my concrete crack or heave over time?
Concrete patios typically last around thirty years. Freeze-thaw cycles and uneven soil beneath the slab are the common causes of cracking, which is exactly why our process includes a drainage and grading assessment before we ever pour, so Indiana winters do not undo the work.
What finish options do I have?
Broom, stamped, exposed aggregate, and stained or colored concrete. We walk clients through the options during the site visit so they can pick what fits the home, including an honest account of the maintenance each finish will ask for.
Do I need a permit for this?
Most concrete projects, driveways and patios included, require permits from the local building department, and requirements vary across the metro. We are upfront about what is required in your jurisdiction and clarify who handles the permitting before work starts.
What happens if it rains or the ground is frozen?
Concrete poured on frozen or snowy ground is more prone to cracking and instability, so we plan pours around weather conditions rather than rushing a job that will not hold up. Weather moves pour dates, and your schedule accounts for that.
Have you done work like mine before?
We show real project photos and talk through direct experience with your specific type of job, whether that is a patio, a driveway or a wall, rather than pointing at unrelated commercial work. If we have not done something, we will say so.
What if I am not happy with the result?
Every project includes a final walkthrough before final payment, so any concerns are addressed on site rather than after the fact.
Do you work with commercial properties?
Yes. Parking lots, drive lanes, sidewalks, entry walks, and pads, on the same written scope process, adjusted for commercial timelines, site access, and phasing around an operating property. We do not take structural or industrial work.
Site visit first. Then a number you can hold us to.
We do not quote concrete over the phone, because a number given before anyone has seen the site is a number that changes.
